Well, well, well… looks like it’s time to buy a Bottega Veneta handbag with the new “Certificate of Craft” being offered. Like I needed a “Certificate of Craft” to talk me into buying one… but I have to say, it does make it alot easier to hit the purchase button when you know the bag is guaranteed to be refreshed and repaired for life.
Bottega Veneta CEO Leo Rongone said in a statement….
"The certificate of craft is born out of a desire to offer our clients a superior service of long-term preservation of their products.
We focus on responsible growth. Our intention is to maintain products in use for longer, reducing the need for replacement.”
"We count days, not hours, to make our products. They are designed to last forever."
Leo, you had me at last forever…. Am I right?
So as of right now (November 1st, 2022), if you buy a new Bottega Veneta handbag and it is one of the classics, it will be guaranteed not just for your lifetime but guaranteed until the end of time. You can now know for sure that in the future when you pass down your collection of Bottega Venetta handbags (that you start collecting this month) to your daughter, to a friend, to a loved one or to a luxury consignment resale site (hint hint S/G)… that it is guaranteed to be maintained and, even more so, preserved.
Whew… this is fantastic right?!
I will note that the “Certificate of Craft'' program is offered at Boutiques with new purchases only and is currently focused on Bottega’s iconic bags. The service includes a physical card that coincides with the product's serial number that is given to the buyer when a purchase is made (as of 11/1/22). We can only hope the brand extends this to all their handbags in the near future.
As a society, it is refreshing to see a company extend an ethical gesture and new code for branding. Bottega Venetta is known for its use of fine materials, extraordinary craftsmanship, contemporary functionality and timeless design. Now they can add sustainable integrity to the list of their core values.
I love it!
💛Rachel
