The history of Valentine's Day goes all the way back to ancient Rome? It started out as a pagan festival called Lupercalia, which was all about fertility and good luck. Later on, the Christian church adopted the holiday and turned it into a feast day in honor of St. Valentine, a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd century. He was said to have performed secret marriages for couples in love, which is why he became associated with love and romance.

Valentine's Day really became popular in the Middle Ages, during a time of chivalry and courtly love. This is when people started exchanging love letters and gifts on February 14th, and it's also when the first recorded Valentine's Day message was sent by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife.

Nowadays, Valentine's Day is celebrated all over the world as a day to express love and affection for the people we care about. It's become a gift time too, with cards, candy, and flowers being popular gifts. But at its heart,

Valentine's Day is all about celebrating love, and that's something that we can all get behind, am I right?
