Women in Oversize Coat with Oversize Belt

As fashion houses unveiled their fall/winter 2024 collections, they focused on perfecting the timeless elements that truly make clothing stunning. Rather than chasing fleeting trends or striving for groundbreaking innovation, designers celebrated the classics, signaling the return of iconic pieces like the Big Belt, an array of fur in both faux and real variations, and leather corsets and gloves in various textures.

New York Fashion Week showcased a dazzling array of styles that caught my eye.

Custo Barcelona  dazzled with shimmering tracksuits, foil dresses in silver, purple, and teal, and tinsel-topped separates, perfect for those who dare to stand out.

Meanwhile , L'Agence  stumbled upon an unexpectedly sophisticated collection evoking the aura of organized crime, featuring cropped fur jackets, sleek floor-length slips, and deconstructed black tie looks adorned with dazzling jewels.

Pamella Roland's collection drew inspiration from a journey through Belgium, capturing the captivating hues of wine, chocolate brown, bronze, and gold. Her impeccable attention to detail was evident in the intricate gem embellishments, delicate appliqué, and ethereal feather work, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance on the runway.

This season, Ulla Johnson joined forces with Brooklyn painter Shara Hughes , resulting in a collection of vividly colored, landscape-patterned frocks and relaxed suiting. The collaboration was nothing short of stunning!

Rachel Comey paid homage to the esteemed New York-based multimedia and performance artist, Joan Jonas , by seamlessly integrating distinctive textiles and embellishments into her collection. I absolutely loved the floral dresses with subtle hints of red throughout and the all white dress with the oversize fringe leather handbag!

Alice + Olivia delivered a collection destined to grace wardrobes this season, showcasing timeless black and white dresses, a beautiful bold red suit, and exquisite lace corset paired with coordinating pants and gloves. However, the standout piece was a bedazzled black shirt paired with gray jeans, accentuated by a mesmerizing fringe jacket that epitomized sartorial elegance.

Retrofête's presentation exuded opulence reminiscent of an '80s business cocktail soirée, featuring vibrant statement hues like bold reds, cranberry, navy, and pink-purple shades. Personally, I loved the dark navy suit with the white oversize fur coat!

Peter Do made his debut for the esteemed minimalist label Helmut Lang , offering a contemporary reinterpretation of the founder's iconic narrow suiting, elevated denim, and signature message shirts.

Brandon Maxwell's  showcase radiated elegance, with each guest’s seat adorned with a decadent bar of chocolate. Against a backdrop of ethereal all-white, models gracefully floated down the runway in billowing cream gowns, epitomizing divine grace and effortless allure. Particularly captivating was Maxwell's masterful creation of a rose gold leather + denim jean combo paired with a chic white shirt, a testament to his unparalleled craftsmanship.

Presented at Grand Central Station's Oyster Bar, the Fall-Winter '24 Tommy Hilfiger collection pays homage to New York City. Drawing inspiration from the city's essence, classic prep styles of the '90s are reimagined with modern touches, incorporating textured fabrics like corduroys and herringbones. Women's coats feature tailored cuts in camel wool and earth-toned tweeds, while cable knits and cashmere mini-dress polos offer understated luxury. Standouts include the wider trouser legs and boxy outerwear, such as the striking red trousers paired with a striped sweater and matching oversize scarf. This collection seamlessly blends Tommy's iconic Americana with a contemporary palette of red, white, and dark midnight blue.

One simply cannot overlook Ralph Lauren's captivating showcase, where the dark emeralds and purples mesmerized on the runway, alongside the irresistible boho looks destined to inspire countless women and the way we choose to style ourselves this year!

Crafting a concise blog post that encapsulates every captivating moment from the catwalk is quite the challenge, and, let's face it, it's not happening here. Instead, let's delve into more of my fashion favorites from NY Fashion Week.

Sophisticated Grays are in for 2024

First up, Phillip Lim's impeccable denim and sportswear pieces—they're simply irresistible, and I'm already eyeing a few for my wardrobe. And Carolina Herrera's collection? Pure magic! Those ruffle black pants paired with the icy red turtleneck bodysuit stole the show for me. Don't even get me started on the sleek turtleneck and off-the-shoulder dresses—each piece has me completely smitten! This collection speaks to me on every level!!

Leather Gloves are a statement piece to own and style with in 2024

So, what has New York Fashion Week taught me?

Well, my fierce affection for black, adding a pop of red, leather, and oversized coats stands more validated than ever!

Yep, it's just that simple!

Thanks for the lesson!
